Bio

Having been born and raised in Miami, I have witnessed firsthand the impacts of climate change on Florida’s wetlands and coastlines. Environmental advocacy and sustainability have always been a part of my life, but never dawned on me as a career path until college. I developed a specific interest in environmental policy shortly after beginning my freshman year at the University of Miami as an Ecosystem Science and Policy Major.

After graduating with my bachelor’s, I began working with Miami-Dade County’s Division of Environmental Resource Management (DERM) as a Pollution Control Inspector. After a year of working as a Pollution Control Inspector, my views on environmental regulation evolved. Throughout my time at DERM, I have directly seen what it means to enforce material regulations and the material changes required to comply with regulations. Currently, I’m interested in natural disaster management and resilience; however, I know that as I continue to learn, my understanding of how I want to contribute to the environmental field will continue to evolve.
