Bio
As a proud NCSU alum with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies: Global Sustainability & Development, I’m excited to begin my graduate journey in the CCS program. During my time as an AmeriCorps VISTA with the NC Cooperative Extension, I focused on college student initiatives related to basic needs like housing and food security. It was in this role that I became increasingly aware of the rising frequency of natural disasters, their impact on local farmers, and how environmental policies and grants can shape agricultural operations.
I bring experience from both county and local government, currently working with the City of Raleigh. Pursuing a Master’s in Climate Change & Society will help me transition into a role centered on environmental policy, while also equipping me with technical expertise in GIS and disaster resilience. My academic and professional goals are to better understand how climate change and sea level rise affect coastal farmers and food security, and to explore sustainable solutions for the future of coastal food systems.
