Bio

I am a graduate student at NC State working at the intersection of climate, livestock systems, and public health. As a fourth-generation cattle rancher from eastern North Carolina, I study practical ways to lower enteric methane from pasture-based beef while protecting water quality and animal health. I focus on producer-ready strategies so that farmers can document improvement and qualify for incentives without adding burdens that do not make sense on the ground.

My experience is shaped by hands-on roles at Micro Summit Processors, the NC State Small Ruminant Unit, and the NC State Veterinary Hospital, plus a ranch internship in arid Colorado that sharpened my focus on resilient forage and grazing strategies. I am a Parks Scholar and Borlaug Scholar and have presented with the World Food Prize Youth Institute. My goal is to translate rigorous science into tools rural producers can use now to improve both human and animal health while strengthening rural livelihoods.
